Links to YouTube videos now show a preview in the web app: thumbnail, title and channel. Diego asked for it, and he was right: other networks have it.
Why "click to load"
An embedded YouTube player talks to Google as soon as the page opens, even if you just scroll past it. Disbigle has no ads and no trackers, and we did not want to bring them in through a video.
So our server fetches the title and thumbnail and shows them to you: while you read, your browser does not contact YouTube at all. The player loads only when you press play, from youtube-nocookie.com.
Also fixed
Profiles from Mastodon and diaspora* show their bio with its formatting and links, instead of raw HTML. A post with a single photo shows it whole and sharp on large screens.
Thanks again, Diego!
