Diego keeps sending ideas from the diaspora* community, and in the last days several of them arrived on Disbigle. The biggest one: hiding what you don't want to see, without unfollowing anyone.
Hide posts and hashtags
- One post: in the "…" menu of someone else's post, choose "Hide this post". It leaves your timelines, reshares included, and you keep following its author.
- A hashtag: on the hashtag's page press "Hide", and posts with it no longer show in your timelines, from anyone.
- A hashtag from one person only: in the "…" menu of a post, "Hide #hashtag from Name". You keep seeing everything else that person writes, and the hashtag from everybody else.
Hidden hashtags are listed in the sidebar, under the followed ones; one click shows them again. Hiding wins over following, your own posts are never hidden, and the hashtag's own page still shows everything.
Your posts, your replies
- Who liked and who reshared: on your own posts the like and reshare counts open the list of people.
- Remove a reply on your post: what someone else writes under your post can be removed by you, and it disappears on diaspora* pods too.
Small things
- In notifications, the name of who did something takes you to their profile.
- Links to other sites open in a new tab, in posts from other servers too.
- After scrolling down a long timeline, a button takes you back to the top.
On your phone too
Hiding posts and hashtags, and the list of who liked and reshared, are also in the Android and iPhone apps; hidden hashtags are in Settings. Update the app with Obtainium or SideStore to get them. Thanks, Diego!
